Legend said, in ancient time (lol 2800 BC), Dragon Lord Lạc Long Quân married Heavenly Godess Âu Cơ. Together, they gave birth to a egg sac. As the egg sac break down, a hundred Vietnamese come out from inside (Bách Việt - Bai Yue). Fifty of them going to highland, fifty other going to the seashore. Thus marking the origin of Vietnamese. Almost 5000 years of civilization, the rest of the Bách Việt (Bai Yue) civilization got assimilated and become the southern Chinese. Except Vietnam, last of the Bai Yue civilization, never willing to become Chinese.
